Obituary of Mervin Harold Redmond

REDMOND, Mervin Harold - World War II Veteran, R.C. NVR Royal Canadian Navy and Volunteer Reserve Signalman.  Mervin Redmond of Allenford peacefully with family by his side at Chapman House, Owen Sound Friday March 9, 2018.  Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 70 years Shirley (nee Sachs), daughter Lois (Ross Beckett) of Keady, son Dennis (Susan Montgomery) of Owen Sound and sisters-in-law Marion Redmond of Owen Sound and Eileen Klages of Chesley.  Also survived by grandchildren Lisa Slot of Wiarton (children Karissa, Mariah and Tristan), Brad Stephen and Michelle of Kilsyth (children Parker and Corey), Angela and Ryan Whitney of Owen Sound (children Jack and Blake) and Vanessa and Chris Jackson of Desboro.  Missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by brothers Art (Elma), Alvin (Margaret), Gordon (Catherine) and Douglas, sisters Thelma Clark (Cliff), Ethel Forbes (Earl) and Doris Calcutt (Ken), brothers-in-law Orneth Sachs (Jean), Cecil Sachs and Allan Klages and great grandson Brent Stephen. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted from Sauble Beach United Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2:15 p.m.  The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 144 will conduct a tribute service Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.  Rev. John Smith officiating.  Spring interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.  Expressions of remembrance to the Sauble Beach United Church or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
