. I first met Clyde in my first year of my electrical apprenticeship in 1967 working for Fitter Electrical Services in Owen Sound... It was hard not to be impressed with this man and his character, size and stature... Though our paths rarely crossed over the years,, there were times when it did..Clyde went on to have a great career in the electrical field..He was always at the top of his game,, no matter what the challenges...He was liked, loved , respected and appreciated by all that knew him.. I doubt he ever had an enemy in the world.... I'm proud to have known and worked with this man..I'm sure many others share this sentiment...Rest in peace my brother.. Till we meet again........Larry Becker

I met Clyde when he moved into Lee Manor and I had the pleasure of taking care of him. He was a very sweet man that I enjoyed spending time with especially with his wise cracks and him bursting out with laughter for no reason but whatever it was it always made the staff laugh as well. It sure isnt the same without him there is a void now that I dont think will ever be filled because he was one of a kind. Im sure going to miss hearing "hey buddy where you been" with his big smile and his eyes just a glowing. Rest in peace my big friendly giant.
To his Family I just want you to know that everytime you came to visit was always the happiest days he had, you did make a difference those where the days he laughed more talked more and most of all he was truly happy you could tell by the glow he had. My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you in this time

To the families of Clyde, Mary and Tom, please accept our condolences. Clyde and I grew up in the rural communities of Park Head and Allenford spending many hours together through our connections with the church, our one room school house and softball. I have many fond memories of Clyde and particularly remember him as an excellent softball catcher. He was as tough as nails, always sporting twisted knuckles and bruises but never complaining. As my career took me away from the area, I never saw him as often but when we did, it was like old times. Luckily when we returned to the area after retirement, Clyde spent several days installing electricity at our new home. There was a lot of time spent talking about the olden days and many laughs. You couldn’t help but like Clyde. To know him was an honour.

Good morning Brothers and Sisters
Sadly I forward news of Brother Clyde Rourke's passing. Many of you knew Clyde better than myself but what sticks with me is that he was a standout guy. When I arrived at Lummus Heavy Water in the 70s, Clyde was my 4-Striper. It was a big project and his big, tall stature fit right in as he carried the stripes well as our General Foreman. As I was being oriented on who was who, Clyde was pointed out as he was striding across the site. I distinctly remember the massive strides of this man's walk and thinking there is a guy on a mission. Any conversation regarding Clyde always included "really great guy." I belong to the Allenford Curling Club where Clyde for many years was the ice maker, maintainer, bartender and everything else in between. I've had a need to dig through old maintenance records at the club and always appearing are handwritten notes by Clyde which will continue to remind us of great memories of the past. Rest in Peace Brother Clyde.
Brother Sandy Fair
