Obituary of Ola Simmons

SIMMONS, Ola June peacefully with family by her side at Tomkins House Hospice Huronia, Penetanguishene on Sunday, January 11, 2026.  Ola Simmons (nee Barnes) of Midland in her 98th year.  Beloved partner of Hawley Loucks of Windsor. Cherished mother of Mary Jane Simmons of Midland, the late Murray Simmons and Lenore Simmons (Jon) of Midland.  Loving step mother of Maylene (Angelo), Joan, April and the late Dawn Marie. Much loved grandmother of Sherry (Dave), Randy (Sharon), Wendy (Mike), Karissa, Derek (Hailey), Kevin and Emily (Zac); great grandmother of Alyshia (Brad), Spencer (Alli), Logan, Kollin (Jasmine), Dylan (Jessika), Joel, Aylah and Addison and great great grandmother of Ellie. Dear sister-in-law of Marilyn Barnes and cherished friend of Penny Laurin. Loving aunt of Heather, Janice and the late Steven Barnes. Predeceased by parents Mary Essie (nee Harris) and Cecil Barnes and brother Maurice Barnes.

As per Ola's wishes, no funeral will be held however the family will be having a party to celebrate Ola's life on Saturday April 4th, 2026 from 1-4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Penetanguishene, ON. Ola always loved a good party and she would love for you to come have a drink for her and share some stories and jokes!

Private arrangements entrusted to the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth.
