Obituary of Irene Taman

Peacefully with her daughter by her side at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound Wednesday morning May 1, 2013. Irene Taman (nee Ard) of Sauble Beach in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Lance Sergeant Clifford Taman. Irene was a Registered Nurse and a prominent business woman of Sauble Beach since 1949. (Ard's Grocery Store, Ard's Home Hardware and Knotty Pines Cottages and Cabins) Irene was a Life Member of the Sauble Beach Chamber of Commerce (1961) and Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 586 for over 68 years; as well as 60 years with the Eastern Star. Loving mother of Karen Kocher and husband Victor Nash of Hepworth. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Michael Kocher of Ottawa, Scott Kocher (Stephanie) of Owen Sound, Tammie Kocher and husband Rob Lankin of Waterloo and step-grandmother to Jackie Hood (Steven) of Hepworth and Russell Nash (Kim) of Oshawa and 7 great-grandchildren; Chantel, Calum, Sophia, Michelle, Trevor, Taylor and Jordan. Dear aunt of Glen Ard (Kathy) of Clavering and their family; Jackie & Jamie. Predeceased by one brother Earl Ard and sister-in-law Isobel (Mickey) Ard. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Sunday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from Zion Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach Monday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Interment Zion Cemetery. Expressions of remembrance to the C.N.I.B. would be appreciated. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 586 Hepworth/Shallow Lake will hold a Memorial Service at the funeral home Sunday evening at 6:45 pm.
