My mother was an only child and my father's family were in Newfoundland. My mom's Aunt Jean McMillan and Phillis were friends and that made Phillis our honorary Aunt. We were the lucky recipients of her kindness and wonderful sense of humour throughout our childhood. I especially remember When you both were born and Phillis being so happy and proud to bring you to visit us. She was important to our family and I'll never forget her. I'm sorry for your loss.

Dear Andrew and family - my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time holding you before Jesus to give you His comfort and peace. Your mother was my dear friend when I worked with her at W J Fenton Sec. School and we joined together on many occasions to do battle with the powers that be!! She was a caring and true friend to me. Blessings on you all. Barbara xxxx

I was very sad to hear of Phillis's passing. I had wanted to visit her but sadly I am too late. I had gone to the wrong Kelso place but instead saw other friends that I didn't know were there. Phillis and I were in the garden club together and I enjoyed visits to her garden when on a walk around my neighbourhood. 92 years of age is a life well lived and now may God enjoy her company forever.

How sorry I am to hear this news. Phyllis was an ally and wonderful friend when we worked together at Fenton. She never took anything too seriously, and we laughed often. I have so many fond memories. She listened well and provided tried and true child rearing advice - Jenny and Andrew had trained her well - and she was so proud of the two of them. My regrets to the family. Rosemary Shepherd

My dear sweet Phyllis. You became special to me from my very first day at Kelso Pines. I will miss you greatly, but I will smile for you because I know you are now at peace. I love you honey. Rest peaceful
