Obituary of Burton Atkinson

At the Southampton Care Centre in Southampton with his family by his side Sunday afternoon November 20, 2011. Burton Atkinson of R.R. #1 Hepworth in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Betty Atkinson ( nee Waugh). Loved father of Nancy Ferris of R.R.#1, Hepworth, Anne and her husband Wayne Kurmey of Tottenham and John of London. Lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean Shipley and Carol Cairns both of Wiarton. Dear brother-in-law of Les Allen of Owen Sound, Marion Stirling of Stratford, Marie Waugh and Enid Waugh both of Sault Ste. Marie and Don Waugh of Barrie. Special uncle to Linda Miller. Also survived by his son-in-law Gordon Ferris and daughter-in-law Debbie Atkinson. Predeceased by his son Ted and 2 sisters; Reta Davidson and Joyce Allen. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from Zion Amabel United Church Sauble Beach Thursday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake.
