Obituary of Michael Gouthro

At Gateway Haven in Wiarton Saturday morning March 10, 2012. Michael Gouthro of Shallow Lake formerly of Toronto in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Marlene Gouthro (nee Liphard-Handy) for over 47 years. Dear step-father of Karen Edwards of Cambridge, Brenda Guy and her husband Don of Oshawa and Steven Handy of Ottawa. Lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Dear brother of Betty Currie and Bernie Gouthro both of Nova Scotia. Dear brother-in-law of Donald Liphard of Arthur, Phyllis Horton and her husband Jerry of Owen Sound and Lois Ann Snyder of Waterloo. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Spring interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake. Expressions of remembrance to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 586 Hepworth-Shallow Lake will hold a Memorial Service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:45 pm.
