Obituary of Myrel Messam

Peacefully with her daughter by her side at Summit Place Nursing Home in Owen Sound Tuesday morning April 30, 2013. Myrel Messam (nee Ball) of Tara in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Elgin Messam. Loved mother of Joyce McClure and her husband Alonzo of Owen Sound. Lovingly remembered by her 2 granddaughters; Cynthia Coe and her husband Nigel and Kimberly Robins and husband Jeffrey all of Owen Sound and 3 great-grandchildren; Morgan, Jacob and Bryce. Dear sister of Velma Philp of Owen Sound. Dear sister-in-law of Norm Kearns and his wife Eleanor of Durham. Predeceased by her sister Ilene Kirkland, 2 brothers-in-law; Robert Kirkland and Cameron Philp, sister-in-law Evelyn Kearns and an infant brother. A Funeral Tribute Service to honor Myrel's life will be conducted from the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gerry Hofstetter officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara. Expressions of remembrance to the Allenford United Church would be appreciated.
