Obituary of John Hugh MacDonald

John Hugh MacDonald 1936 - 2013 It is with great sadness that, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, John passed away with his family by his side at the Grey Bruce Residential Hospice, Owen Sound on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in his 77th year. Loving husband to Irene MacDonald (nee Jessome). Cherished father to Andy (Lisa) MacDonald of Shallow Lake, Cindy of Guelph and Ryan of Shallow Lake. Proud Papa of Ashley, Aaron, Zachary and Breanna. Dear brother of Bennett (Ida) MacDonald of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Joanne (Ray) Armstrong of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by parents Duncan and Alice MacDonald and sisters Jean Clarke, Mary Richardson and Helen Ryan all of Nova Scotia. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kawi and Dr. Huff along with the nurses and PSW's in oncology and the hospice. Dad had a love and passion for harness racing, his Detroit Red Wings and trips to Sauble Beach. We will always remember Dad being there for us - no matter what - no questions asked. Love you forever; love you for always. My Dad/Papa you will always be. A private family funeral service will be held at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
