Obituary of Muriel Aiken
Peacefully with family holding her hand at Mapleview Nursing Home in Owen Sound Friday morning January 4, 2013. Muriel Aiken (nee Walker) of Allenford in her 88th year. Beloved wife of Ross Aiken for 62 years. Loved mother of Murray (Debbie) and Merri Lynn (Lonnie) all of Allenford. Lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren; Angela (Lee Gowan), Steven (friend Kaeli Grahlman), Rebecca (Damian Pope), Jessica (Thai Lim), Rosalynn and Bradley and 1 great-grandson Jaden. Dear sister of Ruth McLeod of London and Gerald Walker of Allenford. Dear sister-in-law of Len (Betty) Aiken of Owen Sound. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sons; Bradley Ross and Steven Wesley, parents; Robert & Carrie Walker, brother Alan Walker and sister Mary Merriam. Muriel will be greatly missed. She was a business owner, long time member of Allenford United Church and active in her community, former teacher, Bruce County Board of Education Trustee, UCW member and volunteer for several groups. Muriel's kindness and generosity will be well remembered by friends and family alike. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Sunday January 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Tribute Service to honor Muriel's life will be conducted from Zion Amabel United Church, Sauble Beach, Monday morning January 14th at 11:00 am. Spring interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.
