Obituary of Joyce B. Allen

Peacefully with her family by her side at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound Monday morning April 30, 2007. The former Joyce Atkinson of Owen Sound in her 88th year. Loved wife and best friend for 66 years of Leslie Allen. Joyce and Leslie owned and operated Allen's Lunch, Bowling & Billiards and Allen's Mens Wear in Wiarton for over 32 years. Loving mother of Joan Jones and Beverly Brough-Bartlett and her husband Paul all of Owen Sound. Lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren; Wendy and her husband John Arnott of Mississauga, Sandi Jones of Toronto, James , Keetah and Michael Brough of Owen Sound, Alina and her husband Jason Ticknor of Kitchener, Amanda Bartlett of Edmonton and Joshua Bartlett of Owen Sound and her five great-grandchildren; Allen, Sarah Jane, Haley, Cody and Andrew. Dear sister of Burton Atkinson and his wife Betty of R.R.#1, Hepworth, Jean Shipley and Carol Cairns both of Wiarton. Predeceased by one sister Reta Davidson, three brothers-in-law Ernie Shipley, Dan Davidson and Orval Cairns. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Shallow Lake United Church Friday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Jack Tweddle officiating. Interment Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake. Cremation has taken place.
