Obituary of Jean Carr

Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound Sunday morning May 5, 2013. Jean Carr (nee Smith) of R.R.#7, Owen Sound in her 94th year. Jean was a prominent businesswoman in Owen Sound for many years and long-time member of First United Church and their couples club. Beloved wife of the late Stan Carr (March 13, 2013). Loved mother of Muriel Parkes of Owen Sound. Dear mother-in-law of Doreen Lenz (Ted) of Wiarton. Lovingly remembered by her 3 grandchildren; Anna Parkes of Owen Sound, Steve Lenz (Iris) of R.R.#1, Shallow Lake, Graham Parkes (Dale) of R.R.#1 Berkley, granddaughter-in-law Kim and her husband Tom Whitcroft of Wiarton and 6 great-grandchildren; Melissa, Joshua, Michelle, Jeffrey, Jacqueline, Kima and 1 great-great granddaughter Kadence. Predeceased by her son Mervyn Lenz, 2 grandchildren Marty Lenz and Guy Parkes. Friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME Hepworth Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted from the First United Church, Owen Sound Wednesday morning at 11:00 am with Rev. Kristal McGee officiating. A joint committal service and interment for Jean and her husband Stan will follow Jean's funeral at Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara. Expressions of remembrance to the First United Church, Owen Sound or the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce would be appreciated.
