Peacefully surrounded by her family at the Grey Bruce Residential Hospice, Owen Sound Sunday afternoon February 21, 2016. Lois Schmidt (nee Petrie) of Sauble Beach in her 78th year. Beloved wife of John for 49 years. Cherished mother of Starr Snyder of Kitchener, Melody (pre 1964), Troy (pre 1995) and Natasha Fassl and her husband David of Sauble Beach. Loved grandmother of Chad (Teresa), Brette, Shawn, Justin (Melissa), Erin (Trevor), Tyler and Wyatt and great grandmother of Payton, Carter, Trey, Charleah, Troy, Brette Jr. and Seth. Dear sister of Marlene Cassady (Ed) of Grand Bend, Fred Petrie (Edythe) of St. Mary's, Earl Petrie (Josephine) of Sauble Beach, Dennis Petrie (Karen) of Stratford and Robert Petrie of Stratford. Predeceased by parents Clara (Bender) and Emerson Petrie, brothers and sisters Emerson, Marion, Shirley, Donna, Helen, Gary and Ken and great grandchildren Morgan and John. The funeral service will be conducted from the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday at 12 noon with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Spring interment Zion Cemetery.
