Obituary of Janet Babion Atkins

ATKINS, Janet Babion (nee Blackwood), born May 8, 1916, died peacefully on April 17, 2016 in Wiarton, Ontario. Formerly of Guelph and Oakville, she was the devoted wife of the late George Stuart Atkins; dear and loving mother and grandmother of Margaret & Philip Andrewes, Sarah Andrewes & Jim Blanch, Christopher Andrewes, Caroline Andrewes & Joe Lawton; Mary & Robert Carley, Jonathan Carley, Brendan Carley & Stephanie Reid, Ryan Carley; Norah Elliott, Mark Elliott, Derek & Ashley Elliott, Tim Kennedy; Louise Atkins & Duncan Bury, Jessica Bury, Philip Bury & Samantha Wisniewski; and precious great grandmother of Luke & William Andrewes, Sabine & Xavier Carley, Emelia Kennedy, Jasmine & Holly Elliott, Autumn Bury. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kathryn Elliott Kennedy, and her brothers, John and Alan Blackwood. Janet leaves behind her many loving and caring friends at Gateway Haven community in her cherished Bruce Peninsula. Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Janet on Saturday, May 7, at Gateway Haven, 671 Frank Street, Wiarton. Visitation begins at 10:00 am followed by the service of thanksgiving at 11:00 am. Interment takes place at 2:30pm at Zion Cemetery, Hepworth, Ontario.
