We think of Mary with a smile as she always welcomed us. Whenever we saw her she always asked about our family (especially the grandchildren). She will be missed by her family and friends especially during this xmas season. God bless you Mary and your family and everyone you've touched in life.

Part of growing up for me were the early years at "The Beach"...I went there as often as I could and however I could. It wasn't a question of waiting for an invitation as one was never required. Mr and Mrs G. were wise and very patient with our "shananigans" and high spirited social leanings, never once uttering a cross word, but at the same time not hesitating to to do a little "coaching" ( the opportunities for this were endless ). I believe they had faith that we would eventually grow up and work out of it...and many of us did.
Mary has now left the boys totally orphaned, but I know she has prepared them for this moment by teaching them ...and allowing them...to be independent and to take the long view of it all. That said, I know they are all totally heart broken and I offer them my most sincere condolences on the death of their Mother. Mary and Mr G will live on forever for all of us...the memories are just too rich and colourful to just file away.
And Mary was a true Christian and her reward has no doubt already been reaped...she fought the good fight and ran the good race, and all of us are now cheering for her as she crosses the finish line.
Love to all of the family,
Reg

The Mary I knew has set out on a pilgrimage to her sacred place, simply staging the journey from the namesake hospital, church and cementary, the last locus of terra ferma. And leaving her boys worn out by her determination to leave no part of this business of living undone. Good on you and all your children to have shared in such a life, both fulsome and fulfilled. To your friends we mark the end of an era in your mothers, your grandmothers passing. Hers was a life that bridged continents, cultures, centuries but , more than that, all barriers to holding you close in her era of caring. I will always treasure the " Sauble" years that were the opportunity for me to share the company of Martin and Mary.
