Bruce was my first cousin. His mother Verna and my mother Lois were sisters. My sister Dale (Weatherill), my husband Kevin (Grundy) and I visited Bruce in the spring of 2016. I have very fond memories of visiting Lion's Head in the summer months when I was a child. Rest in peace Bruce. Sadly, Dale passed away a few months after you. ❤️

I last saw Bruce about a year ago and was hoping that I would get to Lion's Head this summer to see him again. I spent most of my Summers growing up in Lion's Head, my mother's hometown.
We had many many adventures together all over the peninsula and especially in my mother's cedar strip boat. Bruce's dog Tip shared almost all of them.
I will miss Bruce dearly and wish that I had had one more chance to see him. I'm living in Waterloo now and if I had known I would have gone to the hospital to see him.
Best wishes to Marshall, Valerie and grandchildren.

Dear Marshall, Lannie, Valerie, and family,
So sorry to hear about Bruce. In the years after Lois died, Bruce visited us several timed at Jackson Cove on his trusty moped, and always had a smile on his face. He clearly had a love for life, and I will miss those visits I had with him at their house on Ferndale Road. Thinking of you all... Dr Brian Taylor

For some months I have been contemplating a trip to Lion’s Head and felt I should call on Bruce. For some time I had no way to contact him, so had to take a chance and drop in.
A few years ago my sisters and I did just that and spent a wonderful afternoon looking thru his genealogy of the family that he was immersed in. It is a pleasant memory and one I will cherish. One can always feel comfortable visiting cousins.
Marshall and family, we are grieving along with you this week. At least he did not have prolonged suffering and now will be with the love of his life forever.

I grew up in Ferndale and went to BPDHS. Bruce and I were in the same grade and class. Bruce was a lot of fun. Bruce always treated me with respect and friendship as I believe he treated everyone else.
I went for a hilarious ride in his 53 or 54 Ford convertible one day at noon time. Someone in the car complained about his driving so he pulled the steering wheel off the column and tried to hand it to the complainer while we made a speedy trip down the road. The complainer shrieked. Bruce laughed and put the steering wheel back on the column. We got back to the school in one piece.
My prayers are with you as you assimilate your loss.
