I asked Reta on her 100th birthday how she had lived so long and she said that she always made sure to find at least one thing to smile about everyday. She also said she never worried about death because she would be ready when the time came. She was an amazing and wonderful woman. God speed to heaven Reta.

From Reta's nephew Earl's family, Heather, Daphne, Stephen and Geoffrey McCulloch and Jo (M. Josephine) Taylor: We have great memories of our Great Aunt Reta. Heather and I recall visiting the farmhouse with her and Uncle Lawrence who always made such a fuss of us kids and made sure we had things to play with while the adults had coffee and talked too much. Although we never lived close by, it was always good to visit Reta when we could. In recent times, Reta could still make us smile, whether joking about her unheard of age or thanking me for having such warm hands!

Dear Patt and family,
We remember your Mom so fondly! Having been raised in Allenford and being part of the Allenford Twin community
(there sure were a lot of us!) we shared lots of laughs with her.

I have wonderful memories of Reta from our Crawford picnics. Her engaging voice and joyful demeanour revealed her fun loving and encouraging spirit. Always ready to share her thoughts and speak her mind, Reta left a larger than life positive impression on me. Though I have not seen her for many years I enjoyed my times in her presence and know she will be missed by many.
