Obituary of Rev. David Clarke

'Absent from the body, present with the Lord.'

Went peacefully to be with his Lord Jesus, early Thursday morning, April 08, 2021 at Grand River Hospital, Rev. David Clarke of Waterloo (Parkwood Mennonite Retirement Home) and formerly of Hepworth in his 95th year.  Husband to Margaret Clarke (nee Rowan) his beloved wife of 71 years, who is rejoicing with him in heaven.  Cherished father of Elizabeth Wells of Owen Sound, Margaret Burkholder and her husband Rev. Daniel of St. Thomas, Lois Musselman and her husband Dave of Owen Sound, Dr. David Clarke and his wife Kathy of Parry Sound, Gwen Houston and her husband Dr. Dave of Timmins and Anne Guenther and her husband Lawrence of Waterloo.  Much loved grandfather of 18 (12 spouses) and great grandfather of 23 with 1 on the way.  Dear brother of Douglas Clarke of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Louise Clarke of Aurora and brother-in-law to Ruth Clarke of Vineland , Elizabeth Eby of St. Jacob's and Norma Jordan and her husband Jerry of St. Jacob's. Predeceased by son-in-law Bob Wells and brothers and sisters Gertrude (Donald) Moyer, Ruth (Ted) Roberts, Bruce (Norma, Eleanor) Clarke, Margaret Clarke, Keith Clarke and Elwyn Eby.  Special thanks to staff at Parkwood and GRH for their compassion and care.

Rev. Daniel Burkholder and Rev. Peter Lemont officiated a zoom funeral service April 18 at 2 p.m. which can be viewed below.

Private family interment at Springvale Baptist Church Cemetery, Stouffville.
