I was sad to hear Alex had passed. He had a positive attitude regarding his recovery the last time I spoke to him. We shared memories of years gone by. Although work created physical distance we stayed in touch. He was my friend & I will remember him as funny, caring & kind.
Good bye my friend. My deep condolences to Your family.

Family of Dr. Klym - being a patient of Alex for many years in Owen Sound, we were shocked to learn of his passing. We watched his funeral service on line just yesterday. His sister spoke with such passion and love for her brother, he would have been so proud. So sorry for your loss, he definitely will be missed by many people. Sincerely Lloyd & Jo-Ann Sheridan

We had the privilege of getting to know Alex well through our years of volunteering in the Junior curling program at Bluewater Curling Club, and also when we travelled to curling events to watch the Junior Men's team our son was a member of (that Alex coached for many years.)
There are so many good and wonderful memories to recall. His kind, calm and caring demeanor, his generosity in putting in countless hours of volunteering with young people at the curling club have no doubt influenced many young lives.
For several years he was very committed to coaching the Junior Men's team of Jeff Armstrong, Cody Maus, Derek Abbots, and our son Mark Gamble. I recall one weekend when the team was curling in Ottawa - Alex had been unable to make the trip with them, but surprised them by booking a flight and joining them part way through the weekend! Such was his level of commitment!
Alex was also a fun person to be with and was always so interested in what people had to say.
Alex's faith shone through in all that he did - he greatly blessed the Owen Sound community.
We are so saddened to hear of his death - our hearts go our to you, his family. He will be missed and fondly remembered by many.

Devastated to read of the death of Alex Klym. After moving to Owen Sound, I had two unsuccessful attempts when trying to find a suitable dentist. Eventually I was able to become a patient of Dr. Klyms…he was a gentle and considerate person, and understood my husband’s problem…he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease but it did not deter Dr. Klym from treating him with tenderness and care. My last visit I remember him talking about his buying ten pounds of onions as he loved fried onions. Each time I fry onions, he comes to mind. He will be sorely missed and to his family, my sincere condolences.

Our sincere sympathy to Alex’s family. Alex became our dentist and close friend when he moved to Owen Sound, he was the best dentist ever. Alex and Reg had a wonderful time travelling on bike through Germany, Luxembourg and France. Alex was also interested in working with stain-glass so he and Reg worked on some projects together. He would come by for dinner and we’d have great conversations. Alex was such a gentle, caring person and he will be truly missed. Rest In Peace Alex.

Alex was my late husband’s good friend. Lyle and Alex travelled to California together, they shared a love of Curling, baseball and many other sports. I got to know Alex when Lyle and I met and then married. Alex was best man at our wedding and loaned us his Classic cars to drive in after the ceremony. Alex has been a friend to Lyle for approximately 28 years and I knew him 21 years. He became family to us. AJ and him came over for dinner and a movie or board game night often. Alex also spent many evenings with us enjoying dinner or a visit to watch Curling with Lyle. He would stop by to catch up and would end up staying late into the evening. His Christian faith was something we shared and understood.
I had to leave my job because of my health and the first thing Alex asked was where we going to be ok. He the proceeded to ask if I would be interested in doing the office payroll and do Quickbook entries. I needed to work from home but for Alex that was no problem. He bought a laptop and and new phase of friendship began. The job changed a lot over the 5 years we worked together and I became the office manager. I came into the office as needed.
3 years ago Lyle had a massive stroke and after returning from a diner break I found Alex and Lyle in the ICU watching a Raptors game on tv. After Lyle passed away Alex made a point of calling or stopping by to see how I was doing and ask if I needed anything, he quite often inquired about my health.
Alex’s kindness and generosity was abundant to those who knew him. He was a great friend and will be truly missed. Rest In Peace my friend
