Obituary of Jack Diverty

DIVERTY, Jack David peacefully at Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, November 22, 2022. Jack Diverty of Sauble Beach in his 83rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Jacqueline (nee Field) for 59 years. Cherished father of Jennifer (Phil Bradley) of Oakville and Brent (Pamela Hunt) of Ottawa. Loved grandfather of Kaeden, James, Emily, Julia and Matthew. Dear brother-in-law of Bonnie Field of Fruitland, Judy Conrod of Hamilton and Peter Sirman of Ancaster. Predeceased by parents Janet (nee Johnston) and David Diverty, brother Dan, sister-in-law Virginia Sirman and brother-in-law David Field.

Jack was a teacher and an administrator in a number of Hamilton Schools over 35 years. He held a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University and a Masters of Education from the University of Buffalo. He was an active participant and leader in Ryerson United Church (Hamilton), Sauble Beach United Church and the Hamilton YMCA. In his retirement years, he could be found on the slopes at Blue Mountain, the links of the Sauble Golf Club, or riding his lawn tractor. He and Jacquie spent many winters golfing in Myrtle Beach, travelling the world and enjoying their supportive and loving children at the beach or around the campfire. Jack's love for family and friends was evident in his beautiful smile. He will be missed.

The Diverty family appreciates the exceptional care given to Jack by the Grey Bruce Palliative Care Team, under the leadership of Dr Kelly Fenn, the doctors and nurses of the Owen Sound Hospital, Dr Kenneth Uffen, Sarah Heathers and the incredible staff of Chapman House Hospice.
