Wow, what can one say about Deanie! She was a bundle of energy, most certainly a force to be reconned with, in her time. I remember her well as the faithful treasurer of the Park Head Women's Institute, always willing to bake her famous, and always requested at the Turkey Dinner, Elderberry Pie!
She was always appropriately dressed for whatever season or special occasion it was, Red at Valentines, Green for St Paddies, although she did love the orange. I once ventured to ask her if her undergarments matched also, and she gave me a quick elbow and wink.
Any and Every time I saw Deanie it made me smile! But, unfortunately, even the great ones get to go on into Glory! So now she has another opportunity to make others smile for eternity!
Rest in Peace, and Bill and my heartfelt condolences to those left behind to carry on without her.
Love Bill and Joane Klingenberg

Terry & Cheryl, please accept our condolences. You can rest assured, your mom lived a full and exhilarating life leaving an impact on everyone she met. Your mom & dad were wonderful neighbours of ours growing up in the Park Head area and she was a great friend of our mother. Often, she would drive over to Port Elgin and visit her at Elgin Lodge. Mother spoke of it often.

Deenie was a remarkable lady & truly an inspiration to all who knew her. I had the honour of riding the mobility bus with this gracious woman to the Owen Sound Y where she enjoyed chatting with her many friends & participating in the Aqua Fit program. She imparted many loving stories about her husband & family & much appreciated words of wisdom. She will always be remembered in our hearts.

I'm so sad I never got the chance to meet you. But, I do know you were a wonderful, loving and funny woman. Carley has talked so much about you, I feel like I knew you. You both had such a special bond that most people are not lucky enough to have in their lives. You will continue to be celebrated, loved and never forgotten. I will always remember you as my orange souls sista. R.I.P. and I know you will watch over all your loved one's and especially Carley. God bless and I pray the sadness of your loss is disipated by celebrating the love you gave everyone.

The world just lost a wonderful Lady. Deanie was always so much fun to be around. The Smith family and the Downs family were good friends and go back a lot of years. I remember my father telling me years ago how Bert, Deanie's father lent him money to build his Funeral Chapel in 1957. It would not have happened without Bert's help. My son TJ was a good friend of Deanie's Granddaughter Carly, and told me that when ever he went to Vernon and Deanie's home they would give him a couple of drinks. I am pretty sure he was under age and I don't think the drinks were pop. No wonder he like visiting Deanie. We will miss you Deanie, Our prayers and Thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
