Obituary of Margaret Sinclair

SINCLAIR, Margaret Elizabeth peacefully at Wiarton Hospital early Sunday morning January 19, 2025.  Margaret Sinclair of Hepworth in her 93rd year.  Beloved wife of the late Ken Sinclair (2008).  Cherished mother of David and Doug (Joyce) of Hepworth.  Much loved grandmother of Sonya (Jamie), Kenny (April), Kyle (Kevin) and Taylor and great grandmother of Aiden, Kendra, Cadence, Myah and Avah.  Missed by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents Margaret (nee Cruickshank) and Charles Barfoot, brothers Ivan Barfoot (Edna) and Wilmur and brother-in-law Jim Sinclair (Betty).

Marg grew up on the Barfoot farm east of Shallow Lake with her older brother Wilmur and younger brother Ivan.  In 1954, she married Ken Sinclair and moved to Hepworth, giving up her brief career as a bookkeeper at RBW.  After moving to Hepworth, she became a fixture at her family vegetable stand and strawberry patch where she enjoyed interacting with her customers for 70 years.  Her smile will be missed by many.  When she wasn't working, she enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing, skating, watching hockey and baking.  She was known for her date squares and chocolate chip cookies.  She never passed up an opportunity to enjoy an ice cream cone.  Marg enjoyed socializing with friends and family.  With Ken, they rarely missed a community dance and square-danced twice a week for many years. 

Family and friends are invited to share memories at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted at the Sauble Beach United Church, Sauble Beach on Friday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m.  Spring interment Zion Cemetery.  Expressions of remembrance to St. Andrew's United Church, Hepworth or Wiarton Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.downsandsonfuneralhome.com
