Obituary of Harold Gard

GARD, Guy Roland Harold peacefully with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound early February 7, 2019. Harold Gard of Owen Sound in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Grace Gard (nee Noble) for 60 years. Cherished father of Greg and his wife Christine of Kemble, Rev. Mary Turner and her husband Mark of Owen Sound, Timothy of Mississauga, and David and his wife Jane of Owen Sound. Loving grandfather of Kayla, Nicolas, Benjamin, Joel, Christopher, Eamon and Ella and great grandfather of Abigail and Ian. Dear brother of Sterling of Simcoe, and brother-in-law of Gayle Gard of Ottawa. Predeceased by parents Margaret (nee Smallwood) and Kenneth Gard, daughter-in-law Gloria Gard, brothers Jack and Kenneth, and sisters-in-law Orma Gard and Eleanor Gard. Harold was a 42 year employee of the Owen Sound Public Utilities Commission, retiring as the general manager in 1993. The funeral service will be conducted from the Calvary Evangelical Missionary Church, 655 10th St W, Owen Sound on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Rev. Mary Turner officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth. Spring Interment Boyd Cemetery.
