Just last night (Sept21) at a FSSF memorial presentation at the Kitchener legion, by Les Shelton, I learned of the recent passing of John Rowe of Owen Sound, at 103 yrs. Perhaps he is one of the last remaining members of the original FSSF brigade. A member of a remarkable group of Canadian/American special forces. Who knew. Thank you John for your long service to Owen Sound.
We will remember them.

Dear Teresa and Phyllis,
I was very sorry to learn that John passed away at Southbridge nursing home during this past February. It was a pleasure to get to know John at the old Maple View. The staff would often bring him down to hear me play the piano!
John enjoyed chatting with me about St. Mary's church here in Owen Sound. I think he enjoyed hearing me give up the updates on the new Rectory etc! will always remember when John tuned 100 years old and that was a big milestone for John!
I will miss volunteering with John now up at the new nursing home of Southbridge!.
I will keep you Teresa and Phyllis and all family all in my prayers!
With much sympathy, Sincerely, Christina Watson.

Aunt Phyllis and Theresa we are thinking of you both during this difficult time. Uncle John was a kind man who shared his love for family and God through his words and fine character. When we found ourselves together we often talked of Kincardine and any updates on our family members. Our sincerest sympathies.Rest in peace Uncle John.
❤️ Love Joanne and Les Besenyodi

So very sorry to hear of John's passing, Phyllis. You will miss him dearly. You & I met several years ago thru the late Margaret McIntosh Craig of Carleton Place. If I remember right, McIntosh is your family. Margaret's mom was a Foster & we were planning a Foster Book, so Margaret asked me to call you. My deepest sympathy & love to you & your family. Sincerely Min xxx ooo

It was a privilege to have known and worked with John as a Knight of Columbus. He came late to the Order but he gave the Knights some great years ad even greater service.
John was the epitome of the true 'Catholic Gentleman' - a servant to all he could.
Godspeed Johnny! Bright skies and green fields await, your Brothers, to greet you.
Vivat Iesus!
